Lance Robert Urie

Lance was born in Thornton, Colorado to Everett and Sandra Urie (Wilson) on December 21st, 1964.

He graduated from Arvada High School in 1983 and later attended Colorado Aero Tech earning an A & P License in 1990.

He married his wife, Laura Carroll, in 1992 and they moved to Indianapolis where he worked at Eagle Creek Air Park fixing airplanes and he earned his Pilots License in 1993.

After returning to Colorado he worked in construction, most recently as a Superintendent at Western Specialty Contractors of Denver, Colorado.

Lance enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding and target shooting. He loved music and played guitar, accordion and saxophone. He especially enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his wife, Laura.

He and his wife lived in a house built in 1906, on almost an acre of land, where they hosted many pig roasts and large gatherings of family, friends and coworkers.

They loved travelling and visited Brazil, Alaska and Hawaii.

One of his first loves was flying. He built wooden remote controlled airplanes with his Dad as a child. His latest passion was flying and building RC airplanes out of foam core and flying drones.

He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. All who knew him will miss his laughter and generosity. Gone too soon, he will live in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura Carroll-Urie
