

Leah Meyers was born August 21, 1916 on a family farm south east of Trego Center in Trego County, Kansas. She was the second daughter of John Fred Eichman and Bertha (Bender) Eichman. She passed away January 3, 2014 in Greeley, Colorado at the age of 97 years.
Leah became a child of God through the Sacrament of baptism on October 1, 1916. She became an active Lutheran Church member by publicly confirming her faith to Jesus Christ as her Saviour on June 21, 1931 at Zion Lutheran Church south of WaKeney, Kansas in Trego County.
Leah was united in marriage to Ernest Sauer on April 17, 1937. To this union two daughters were born Joann Arlene McLean and Mary Ann Burris. Ernest passed away in 1960.
Leah spent her early years as a farm wife, homemaker, and mother.
Leah moved to WaKeney and became a PBX operator with the United Telephone Company, where she worked for 15 years.
In 1968 Leah married Carl Meyers and moved to Denver, Colorado. In Denver she worked at the PBX at Beth Israel Hospital for thirty one years.
Carl preceded her in death on July 25, 1988.
Leah then became a seamstress at Emmaus Lutheran Church and has been a faithful member.
Leah’s passing leaves behind 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 sister and 3 brothers to mourn her death yet rejoice in her Life Eternal. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 7 sisters.
Memorial Services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the Crown Hill Cremation Garden Chapel.
