Born in Vona, Colorado, August 27, 1938, to Burton and Tillie Smit. He was the last living of three children.
Lee was raised working on different family ranches and farms, in his adult years he worked in the construction field, early on building turn key homes with his father and in later years he worked on such projects as the curb and gutter at Rocky Flats to the fresh water treatment plant in Silveton Colorado, he was a finished carpenter. No matter what it was Lee could build it or fix it and guarantee you it was "SMIT TIGHT" Lee could never teach you how to do something he just did it.
In April 1962, He married the women that dreams are made of, Eddie, Edna.They where married 55 years. With the support and love of both sets of parents, Robert and Edna Anderson and Burton and Tillie Smit, they built their house in Lakewood together, which Edna shortly made into a home. They had two children, Tammy Judson (55) of Orchard, Colorado and Rick Smit (53) of the Highlands in Denver, Colorado.
Lee loved Elk hunting the Flat Tops with father and then with a life long friend Jim Hammer, he was avid fisherman and all around outdoors kind of man. He loved time at the lake being a boat driver spending hours pulling all the kids around the lake and racing his cousin Tom. He drove.. he loved to drive he would drive anyone anyplace at anytime "I still have pedal ".
He is survived in death by his two children, Rick and Tammy, son-in-law Rodney Judson, several nieces nephews first and second cousins and step grandchildren.
