

She was an incredibly kind, affectionate, and hardworking woman who was cherished by family and friends alike. Born in Sugar City Colorado to Ydelia Pena and Roberto Pena as the third of eight children, Lola eventually went on to make her home in the Denver metropolitan area.
Lola was incredibly hardworking her entire life, starting her first job as a child working in the beet fields in Sugar City. She carried this passion with her wherever she went and developed a deep enthusiasm for working with schoolchildren until she retired at the ripe age of 80 years old.
Faith played an incredibly important part in Lola’s life. She enjoyed reading her favorite passages daily and was comforted in her relationship with God. She dedicated her life to her family and loved ones.
She had a loving essence that was evident to anyone who spent time around her. She showed her love in so many special ways and it had a pull that was felt by so many including her children who she supported deeply in all of their life’s endeavors.
Lola is survived by her three children (Deborah Gonzales, Veronica Smith, and Laura Gonzales), son in law (Daniel Smith), three grandchildren (Noah Kay, Russell Kay, And Seth Davis), one great-grandchild (Amelia Wilkins) and two siblings (Lorie Pena, and Jerry Pena). Lola was married to Albert Garcia for over 40 years and enjoyed the immense amount of love given by his children and grandchildren.
Lola is preceded in death by siblings Carlos, Valzar, Josephine, Manuela, and Robert, as well as previous husband Daniel Gonzales. Lola Garcia’s service will take place on April 11, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
