

Lucille grew up with one brother and four sisters in Spalding as the children of the local mortician and furniture maker. She married Joseph C. Thiele on August 1, 1945 while he was on a short leave from his war-time duties. Joseph and Lucille purchased their Lakewood, CO home January 1, 1950, where family still resides now.
Lucille and Joseph, with several other families, helped the foundation of Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Parish. Lucille was also a long-standing member of the parish’s Alter & Rosary and Nocturnal Adoration Societies. She was active in the Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club and several volunteer organizations including the Lakewood Seniors and Widows Group.
Lucille is survived by two sons, James (wife Sue) and Paul (wife Carol), granddaughters Selena (fiancé Samuel) and Elisha (husband Chad), two great-grandchildren, and three nephews.
Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Mortuary (29th and Wadsworth) beginning at 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 22nd 2015. Vigil and Rosary will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette’s (12th and Teller, South East of Wadsworth and Colfax) on Monday, November 23rd 2015 at 10:00 am with internment at Fort Logan Cemetery following at 12:15 pm.
Reception will be follow at St. Bernadette’s, in their basement event space.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bernadette’s Altar & Rosary Society.
