Marcia Lee Willard passed away on March 16, 2014. She was born on April 4, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late George and Marcia Elizabeth (Carney) Willard. She was the oldest of three daughters. Marcia graduated from High School in 1958 and enrolled at Kansas University. Marcia graduated with and Education degree in 1962 and moved to Denver, CO to start her career as an Elementary school teacher. She worked as a 4th grade teacher at Bel Mar Elementary in Lakewood, Colorado for several years. Marcia moved in with some friends at Fenton Gardens Apartments and it was there that she met her future husband, a handsome and fun fellow by the name of Bruce Caddell. They had a number of mutual friends and lots of good times. They were married in a beautiful ceremony held on July 31, 1965 with a reception immediately following. Marcia and Bruce settled into a happily married life and moved to Cleveland, Ohio as part of a job transfer for Bruce. Not long after their arrival, Marcia gave birth to their first child Scott. After two more job transfers, the family found itself back in Denver, CO where Marcia had her second child, Cathy. Marcia’s life changed dramatically in the mid 1970’s she got saved at a bible study in her neighborhood. She fell in love with Jesus and received the gifts of evangelism and mercy. Not wasting any time, she shared her faith with her family and one by one she brought Scott, Cathy and Bruce to the Lord. Her gift of mercy led her to volunteer at church as a Sunday school teacher for many years and at Alternatives Pregnancy Center where she was directly involved in saving the lives of numerous babies from abortion. Marcia was also a powerful intercessory prayer warrior and constantly prayed for her loved ones, for healings and against the powers of darkness. Marcia was truly blessed to see her prayers answered when she was able to lead each one of her parents to salvation before they died.
Although we will never know why Marcia was subject to illness and suffering at the end of her life, we rejoice that we had her for 73 wonderful years and Bruce had 48 years in blessed marriage with her. We thank Jesus and the angels that she is finally home and dancing on the streets of gold, free of pain, healthy and whole.
Marcia is survived by her husband Bruce; children: Scott (Terry) Caddell and Cathy (Brian) Tetamore; grandchildren Evan and Charissa Tetamore and Sister Trisha Ochsner. She was preceded in death by her parents, and Sister Georgia Maddux.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection, reception will follow.
In honor of Marcia the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Alternatives Pregnancy Center at: 1440 Blake St., Suite 200, Denver, CO 80202 or online at www.youhavealternatives.org.
