

A year after Margie graduated high school, she moved down to Denver with her best friend Ella, to be closer to her mother. It was through Ella's boyfriend at the time, she would meet Harley (Shorty) Drotts. They courted for 2 1/2 years before they married on August 16,1949.
After their marriage, they settled in Englewood before they raised their children in Harvey Park. Together they had 2 son's, David and Brian Drotts.
She was a dedicated mother, gambling, going to Las Vegas and art restoration. She was a true dog lover. There was never a time in her life when she was without a dog by her side.
When she moved to Denver in 1945, she started her career as a notary public Commercial Credit working her way up to a loan officer. When David came along in 1953, she quit working to become a devoted mother to her children and household.
Margie is survived by her children Brian (Jackie) Drotts; grandchild Shanna LaVon and great grandchild Harmony LaVon and several cousins.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Harley Drotts and parents Lawrence and Mae King.
