Maria Magdalen Marquez

She was the oldest child of 9 brothers and sisters. Listed in order by birth:

She married Joseph S. Marquez (deceased) together they have 9 children. Listed in order by birth:

Marcella, Veronica, Danny (deceased) Gloria, Martin, Reyes, Anna Jean, Rita, Joesph.

She has 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Maria was a wonderful women, beautiful and petite with a great smile. She was very neat, clean and particular (even with 9 children). She would take her children to Sacred Heart Church every Sunday morning, yes we would fill a pew (how wonderful was that).

Before she married she was a nurse aide at Fitzsimons Hospital, then she was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a fantastic cook and baker. She made the best beans, tortillas, pot roast, oatmeal cookies and once you had her lemon meringue pie, you knew you had the best.

She was a collector of knick knacks and dolls. She enjoyed yard work and loved her beautiful flowers.

She loved to go to Mother Cabrini Shrine pick chokecherries and have picnic's. She enjoyed watching The Lawrence Welk Show, the dancing and the music.

She loved to pray, (mostly in Spanish) watch EWTN and listen to Sister Mother Angelica.

She passed away in her sleep, rosary and crucifix in her hand with a peaceful look on her face. She will be missed by so many and will never be forgotten.
