Mary Ellis Garcia

Mary was born to Pastor Antonio and Margaret Montoya on April 29, 1943 in Fort Collins, Colorado. As a child she grew up helping her daddy work in the fields picking crops as well as help her mama in the kitchen where she would learn some of the recipes she would later pass on to her granddaughters.

Mary met her late husband Albert when they were both teenagers. However they wouldn’t re-connect and marry until much later in life after they both had children of their own. Albert had 4 daughters and 3 sons. Mary had 1 daughter, Yvonne.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and step-mother, Mary loved being a grandma and great grandma. She loved spending time with all or her grandkids (especially her 2 great grandsons). She often passed her time crocheting, doing arts and crafts, going camping and taking long road trips with her husband. Throughout her entire life she had an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with everyone around her.

Mary joins her parents Antonio and Margaret Montoya. Her siblings Richard, Ned, Lawrence, Anthony and Margaret (Tommy). And her nephews Kenny and Tony in heaven.

She is survived by her daughter Yvonne (Pat). Grandchildren Jennifer (Michael), Brianna, Kimberly (Alex), and Damian (...). Great grandchildren Ayden and Emmanuel. As well as her siblings James (Rebecca), John (Diane), Marcella, Roseanne (Gene) and Donna.

A funeral service for Mary will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM with a viewing 1 hour prior at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary in the Chapel of Peace with a burial to follow at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery
