Max Manning Parker was born September 17, 1930 in Melford, Utah, the oldest of 3 sons, to Ellnor and Max Sinclair Parker. The family moved to Nevada where Max attended school and graduated from Las Vegas High.
After graduation he joined the Navy and served proudly at the end of World War 2 and in the Korean War.
Upon discharge from the Navy, he met the love of his life, Anita Williams. Max and Anita married in Seattle, Washington and had 4 daughters. The first year, as Max tells it, was a year of many different employers. Upon filing their taxes, he had 13 W2s from different companies. Max's words, as he was walking out the door, were "I was looking for a job when I found this one; get me my check."
Max worked in Alaska for a time. During a flood in Fairbanks he decided the water was too deep and moved the family to dryer ground. Max and Anita moved with the girls to Montana where he started his career as a salesman. He was very successful in Sales and landed in John Deere's yard and that is where he stayed.
Max was a man of integrity, honor, and loyalty. He was a friend to everyone. If he shook your hand from that point on you were in his circle. The great thing about that is if you were Max's friend, he would go to battle stations for you and make sure that, at all cost, you were treated with respect and were always treated fairly.
Now in the sales industry, as most are aware, you have clients. Unfortunately, Max didn't have any of those. He did however have tons of Friends. In most companies you have co-workers and answer to bosses. Sadly, he didn't have those. Luckily he did work with his closest friends to make sure that all of his other friends were taken care of.
Max passed away on January 20, at 2:19pm, surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
Max's wife, Anita, preceded him in death 22 years ago.
Max left behind two brothers, Dick (Gail) Parker, of Kalispell, Montana, and Sid (Marie) Parker of Seattle, Washington; four daughters, Darla Parker Durkin, Laura Parker (David) James, Susan Parker, and Holly Parker (Kelsy) McCoy; 9 grandchildren, Matthew (Kristin) Jones, Christopher (Breanne) Jones, Kaycee Jones, Levi Seymanski, Kayla (David) Cowen, Kyle Durkin, Alissa McCoy, Cody McCoy, and Delaney McCoy. They blessed him with 6 great-grandchildren, Aidyn, William, Nicholas, Avrey, Reese and Reilly.
He also left many nieces and nephews and all of his friends that he held so close to his heart.
A Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 26, 2015, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm, both at Eastern Hills Community Church, 25511 East Smoky Hill Road, Aurora, Colorado, 80016.
