Both Michael and Kim bravely fought their battles with cancer, supporting each other along the way. He is survived by his brother, Stan; his three children: Bryan and wife Gina, Thomas, and Keira; and his granddaughter, Aliya.
Michael served his community for over 40 years as a steadfast member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Strong, calm, and kind, he conveyed confidence to co-workers and people in need of the Department’s service. When off duty, Michael enjoyed golfing, sharing cigars with friends and family, and talking all things Denver sports, particularly the Broncos. He also had a love for the mountains, motorcycles, and sports cars.
A memorial celebration honoring Michael’s life will be held at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Crown Hill on Friday July 22, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30, followed by a reception from 10:30 to 12:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Leukemia Research Foundation at leukemiarf.org.
