Melvin Lloyd Hubbard, “Mike”, age 88, lost his battle with cancer and died peacefully in the arms of Jesus on June 15, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Mike was born November 14, 1927 in Englewood, Colorado. After graduating Englewood High School he served his country as a Marine in World War II and was honorably discharged in December of 1951. He married Malessia (Reeder) Hubbard on October 25, 1947.
Mike maintained his own business throughout his adult life by the sell, maintenance and rebuilding of different types of equipment, mostly commercial bakery equipment. Mike enjoyed the Colorado Mountains, prospecting for gold, and fishing.
He is survived by: children: Vickie Monroe, Richard Hubbard and Mickie (James) McNeely; grandchildren: Dean (Grace) McNeely and Aaron Monroe; great grandchildren Antonio, Tattianna, Harley, Michael, and James and his sister Marjorie Maher. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Malessia, his parents, Bruce and Mildred, and his brother, Bruce “Dick”.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Olinger Crown Hill Chapel of Peace, internment to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to Step 13.
