

Mildred Irene Longman entered into eternal life on October 26,2012. Mildred was born in Loveland, CO on August 27, 1915 to Clarence and Mae King. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1922 where she attended school and in 1933 she graduated from Manual Training High School. Mildred attended CSU for one year and met her husband John Philip Longman and married February 14, 1937. She began a career at Blue Cross Blue Shield March 20, 1951 and advanced to department manager, a position she held at the time of her retirement October 31, 1972 concluding 22 years of service. Mildred became a member of Beth Eden Baptist church in 1937 where she served as choir member and deaconess. For 60 years she taught the Sunday school class for 2 year olds. Mildred was preceded in death by her spouse, Phil, her parents, one brother and one sister. She loved to cook and pies were her specialty. She was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan. Mildred is survived by her son, Gerald, daughter-in-law, Dixie, two grandchildren, Vicki Riddle and Jerry Longman (Jessica) ; six great-grandchildren, Nick Lawhead (Melody), Erin Riddle (Denver) , Kara Riddle, Mitchell Longman, Krystina Longman, John Philip Longman (Rebekah) ,five great, great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Lawhead, Kiersten Lawhead, Rainee Riddle, and Lakyn Longman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beth Eden Baptist School Schlorship Fund2600 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 in Mildred’s loving memory.
Services will be at 3:00pm on Wed. at Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery.
