Nathan was born on September 6th, 1988 in Aurora, Colorado. He was the eldest of three children born to Glen and Lisa Jurgens of Arvada, Colorado. Nathan is survived by wife Holly, children Aisla and Jameson, his parents Glen and Lisa, sisters Melissa (Dustin) Wheeler and Crystal (Weston) Akers, niece Bailey Wheeler and nephews Dustin Wheeler Jr., Benjamin Wheeler, Colter Wheeler, Walker Akers, and Kase Akers.
The Jurgens family spent the early years of Nathan’s life moving around the country while his father served in the Navy. Afterwards, the family returned to Colorado where Nathan was a graduate of Arvada West High School in 2006. He attended college for electrical contracting and met the love of his life, Holly Ann Christensen, in 2013.
Nate and Holly shared a love for the Colorado outdoors and spent time fishing, camping, and hiking together. He shared his hobby of exploring antique stores with Holly and she shared her love of travel with Nate. They were married on December 10th, 2016 aboard a cruise ship surrounded by their closest friends and family members. Nate and Holly began their married life in Fort Morgan, Colorado where he worked as an electrician at Western Sugar Co-operative. Nate and Holly eagerly welcomed their daughter, Aisla Anne Jurgens, in 2019 and son, Jameson Glen Jurgens, in 2022. The young family relocated to Greeley, Colorado in August as Nate continued his career as a master electrician at Western Midstream.
Nathan was a devoted father and loving husband. He took great pride in his role as a father and considered his children one of the greatest joys of his life. Nate had many interests. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many camping and hunting trips with his beloved family and friends. Nate was also a skilled carpenter and craftsman often gifting beautiful pieces to the people he loved. He enjoyed building model trains and recently completed his first N-scale scene. He enjoyed listening to many genres of music and taught himself to play the guitar and ukelele. Nate delighted in gardening and cooking for his family. He never stopped learning and could teach himself just about anything.
Nathan’s passing is a devastating loss to his family and friends that loved him so dearly. Please join the family in remembering his life with a service in the Chapel of Peace at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W. 29th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, on Friday, April 7th, 2023 at 2:30 in the afternoon.
