Dear June, I just left a message on Norms phone.. I had a feeling that he had passed several weeks ago. My sister also passed about the same time, so I hadn't called recently. I was so touched when he sent a condolence card on the death of my Mom in 1998.. Shortly after that we met for coffee and shared pics of our children and grandchildren. He may have told you that I accidentally met your son and daughter in law when she was pregnant several years ago and I was working as a nurse in the Tri-County Health Dept. and recognized their name.. The comments in the guest book certainly reflect the kind of person he was to so many. He deliverd the Post to my home when we were kids.. I went to WheatRidge but sometimes my Dad would invite him in for a game of cards with our family. So.. I was so suprised and happy to hear from him when Mom passed. I am glad you had a lifetime with him . He spoke very highly of you. Best wishes, Bev Ford

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Norm, but rejoice in the fact that he is home with the Lord. And we know that we will see him again. Bob and I think of you often and still have the basket that you made when we moved to Grand Junction. We pray for God's peace to comfort you at this time.

Growing up in Edgewater, I remember one afternoon in the late '50s a bunch of us were goofing around climbing rocks at Red Rocks.  At one point I was left behind because of a crevice that had me psyched out.  As the others razzed me, Norman came back and offered a hand to help me get over.  We didn't see each other over the years but it doesn't surprise me at all reading what a kind and caring person he was all his life.

I HAVE KNOWN NORMAN FOR OVER 50 YEARS.  WE WENT TO SCHOOL TOGETHER AND WORKED PAPER ROUTES FOR THE DENVER POST.  WE WORKED ON CARS FOR YEARS TOGETHER AND WE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER OVER THE YEARS. 
I LEARNED TO LATE TO ATTEND SERVICE.  HE WAS A GENTLE MAN    AND VERY COURTEOUS TO MY FAMILY.  HE WILL BE MISSED.

Comments from Norm's High school friends were; This is the nicest funeral they have ever attended.
He was such an incouagement to them, and they never ever heard him say one thing bad about anyone. They loved him for his cheerful attitude, and sincerity. The pastor who spoke was very good.

I am so sorry to hear of Norm's passing.
 
My memories of him are the smile on his face all the time I was in his presence. I do not remember a frown on his face ever. And his ever present Balloon Fieasa Cap! Oh how he loved coming here to see the balloons! It is so easy to forget that it is the simple things in life that are the best.
 
The Balloon Fiesta. A ride in the Shelby. He was just a fun person to be around. From the first time we met. I will never forget the Model A trip in Yosemite! You and I in the front, June and Norm in the back with the blanket over them to keep warm.  I will always remember the smile on Norm's face riding in-and then driving-the Model A. I don't know that I have ever seen a happier person ever. That was the best birthday present ever for all of us. And his hat blowing off and us having to turn around and go retrieve it! And lunch!
 
And the guards lettings us drive the car to the parking lot and not having to take the shuttle!
 
And the driving lesson in the Model T after we got back! So much fun!
 
So many good memories of Norm.

Every time I saw Norman he had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face.    The best thing I ever did was to take a serger class taught by his wife June!  I've never been the same since. Norman would always say, "here comes trouble" when he saw me!  I am so glad to have known Norman, he was fun to be around.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Norm told me of a time he applied for a job as a forklift operator.  When asked if he had experience Norm replied, "No but I have operated about every kind of farm equipment and can probably figure out a forklift in less then 10 minutes."  The man told Norm because of no experience on a forklift he could not be hired.  Norm told him. "I quess I should have lied to you, got on the forklift and mastered it in 10 minutes."  
The man replied "I guess so." 
Probably the most honest, loving and genuine person I have ever known.  Norm, I will miss you greatly.  Until we meet again.  Lloyd D.Decker - Son-in-law

We only knew Norm through Tina and Don...they spoke so lovingly of him. The stories they shared brought smiles to their faces and ours.

Norman was my twin brother who we always got in trouble together with in growing up. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He was a faithful worker to the end. And I gained comfort in knowing he was able to carry on a comforting conversation to the end. He is in heaven with his family members he dearly loved and missed.

Norman was a man that I had the pleasure of calling "Dad".  His heart would never let issues with family come between his personal relationship with those he loved.  Norm, I will miss you and look forward to our reunion.
