Oscar, age 99, passed away peacefully at his Assisted Living Facility in Lakewood, Colorado.
Oscar was born in Denver to Catherine Seeba and Oscar Otto. He graduated from North High School, and attended the University of Colorado, before joining the Army. He served in World War II in the Philippines, before returning to CU, graduating with honors as a Pharmacist. He worked as a retail pharmacist, first for his Dad, and then another local pharmacy. He then joined the pharmacy staff at St Anthony’s North Hospital, finally retiring at age 70.
Oscar had a variety of interests including being a 4H leader, a wood worker, a gardener, a butterfly collector, a magician, a wild flower photographer, and being a volunteer at the Butterfly Pavilion and as an Open space naturalist in Ft Collins and Jefferson County. He enjoyed needle point, creating stained glass for family and friends, and playing the harmonica. He was also an avid hiker and traveler. He was an active member in a number of Lutheran Churches over the years, and enjoyed reading the Bible.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, November 9, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Lakewood, with a lunch reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Butterfly Pavillion or Jefferson County Open Space is encouraged.
He is predeceased by his wives, Cordell Glawe and Hope Cisneros, and his brother Henry. He is survived by his Sister Catherine Lundstrom, his two children Gail Mills and Steve Otto, his stepsons David and Eliott Cisneros, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Oscar lived a rich, full life, and will be missed by all that knew him.
