Patricia M. Marty

Patricia M. Marty, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023. She was born March 11, 1934 to William and Charlotte Mulligan in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. Pat was the youngest of four children; Charlotte, William, Nancy and Patricia.

Pat graduated from Glen Ridge High and soon after attended Keystone Junior College. After graduation she worked for General Electric for several years. Looking for something new, she then moved to Colorado, at the age of 25, where her sister Nancy and brother-in-law Vern lived. She worked as a secretary for United Airlines before meeting Gerald W. Marty at the Cathedral Club in Denver, Colorado. A city girl at heart, she found her love in a farmer and after a quick courtship they were married on February 20, 1960. Patricia and Gerald were happily married for 58 years and were blessed with three children.

Pat had many hobbies: traveling, playing cards, dancing, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren just to name a few. She also was a faithful Catholic and instilled those values in her family. Once her children were grown, she rediscovered her love for golf and joined a women’s league in Henderson, CO. Pat had many friends from all walks of life and enjoyed meeting with them regularly. She often spoke to friends new and old on a regular basis, including a dear friend from her childhood. Pat and Gerald traveled all around the world finding new adventures with their large group of friends. She also was a strong supporter of the Alzheimer’s association including being a support group leader for many years.

More than anything, Pat loved spending time with her fourteen grandchildren. She could often be found playing cards, supporting their extracurricular activities, and attending family events. In her final years, she often enjoyed speaking of her love for the Atlantic Ocean of New Jersey and the gorgeous sunsets of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A piece of her past and her present.

Pat is preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald, her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her children LuAnn (Stephen) Zehnder, Patricia (Raymond) Becker, William (Linda) Marty, and fourteen grandchildren: Danielle (Brent) Cass, Sterling (Harlie) Zehnder, Alexandra Zehnder, Victoria (Easton) Bruere, and Sebastian Zehnder; Stephanie (Adam) Yamada, Mitchell (Rebecca) Becker, and Josephine (Jake) Strother; Joshua (Kelly) Marty, Madison Marty, Emily (Isaiah) Johnson, Leah Marty, Gretchen Marty and Nicolette Marty; and six great grandchildren, Arya & Callie Yamada, Carter Moton, Beckham Bruere, Jayce Becker and Milo Marty.
