Paul "Bud" Dawkins

Bud was born on October 26th, 1923 in Arvada, CO to Paul and Cecilia Dawkins. With a great sense of humor and love of socializing, Bud lived a full life. In 1947 he married the love of his life, June “Juney” Dollar and together they remained until her passing last July.

Bud was born in Arvada CO, played football at Colorado State University, was president and owner of Van Schaack Land Co., and served in the Pacific as a Merchant Marine during WWII. Bud enjoyed playing gin rummy, golfing, farming and ranching, dancing with his wife, drinking margaritas, and spending time with family and friends.

He was a loving father of Terri (Wayne) Harrison and Kent Dawkins. A proud grandfather of Scott (Marrisa) Harrison, Jason (Juliet) Dawkins, Ashley (Lee) Hunt, and Sara Dawkins. Bud, known as ‘Poppy’ to his family was also a great grandfather to seven beautiful girls! Upon learning the gender his 7th great grandchild would be another girl, he half jokingly responded with an “Oh S*#@t” all the while donning his heart warming contagious smile from ear to ear. His granddaughter’s include Kaitlyn, Courtney and Malea Harrison, Kayla and Taylor Hunt, and Lucia and Scout Dawkins. He is also survived by his siblings, brothers Don and Lee Dawkins and May Bashor. His dear caretaker Rosy Co had been with June and Bud for their last 6 years.

Memorial Service will be held Tues., October 8, 2013, 11AM at Cherry Hills Country Club, 4125 S University, Englewood, CO 80113.
