Phil Terry Collier Sr.

Phil was born on September 19, 1942 in Old Hickory, Tennessee, The son of Carl and Geneva

Collier. Brother of Royce, Bill and Pam.

Phil married his Arvada High School sweetheart Barbara Larkins on March 20, 1965. And

resided in Arvada until Phil was drafted in 1966. During this time Phil served in the US Army in

Vietnam as a Gunner on a Huey Helicopter. And then was stationed in Fort Hood TX in the first

armor division for the remaining part of his service until April 5, 1968. Returning to Arvada CO

where he worked for the City of Lakewood as a Heavy Machine Operator for 30 years.

Daughter Kerri and Son Terry added to the joy in the little house in Arvada. The spring of 1975

Barb and Phil decided to move the family to Coal Creek Canyon. In the canyon they made

many close friends and Phil’s family grew gaining a daughter-in-law Shanan, son-in-law Frank

and Grandchildren, Josh, Teana, Jessie, Emily, Brandan and Great Grandson Cameron. Phil

shared his love for camping, ATVs, archery, shooting, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jeeps and his silly

Papa sense of humor with his grandchildren.

In retirement Barb and Phil traveled by motorhome in caravan groups and made many, many

friends along the way. Phil drove the motorhome East to West across Canada and the United

States. They have traveled multiple trips North and South from Canada to Mexico. Sometimes

towing the ATV’s for their ATV adventures. We estimated Phil drove over 300,000 miles during

retirement. When not traveling the open road Phil enjoyed tinkering in his garage and sharing a

cold Coors Light with friends.

We will celebrate Phil’s well lived life of 79 years. He will forever be in our hearts and memories

as our Awesome Papa, loving Dad, and lifelong best friend.

Services Friday May 13th 1:30 pm at Olingers Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection, 7777 W. 29th Ave.

Wheat Ridge. Casual attire welcome.

Celebration of life to follow services at Arvada Elk Lodge, 5700 Yukon St. Arvada.

Honorary Burial: Ft. Logan Cemetery, Staging C, Monday May 16th 2:15 pm.
