Phyllis was born on March 23, 1930 in Pawnee City, NE. She spent her childhood on a farm situated on the State line with the home in Kansas and the mailbox in Nebraska. Phyllis met her husband, Reid while attending the University of Nebraska. After raising their family in Hysham, MT and Loveland, CO, Phyllis and Reid retired to Grand Junction in 1988. Phyllis cherished her family, friends and faith. She enjoyed spending time gardening, exploring the desert West, and as a volunteer at the Museum of Western Colorado and Cross Orchards Living History Farm. She has been known to say that any day with sunshine was a good day. The foundation of her life was guided by her strong Christian faith. She was an active member of the Redlands United Methodist Church.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband Reid, a son Robert, and son-in-law Don. She is survived by four children and their spouses David and Vicki, Anne and Bob, Jim and Dot, Wendy, and Kathy, six grandchildren Russ, Keith, Janna, Emma, Jake, and Sam, and two great grandchildren Reid and Jane.
