Refugio "Cuco, Joe" Chavez Villalobos

Known for his boundless energy and infectious laughter, Refugio touched the lives of all who knew him with his kind heart and unwavering positivity. He lived life to the fullest, cherishing moments with family and friends and spreading happiness wherever he went.

Refugio's spirit of adventure led him to embrace every experience with enthusiasm. Whether pursuing his passions or simply enjoying the beauty of everyday life, he approached each day with a smile and a genuine love for those around him.

He lived for most of his childhood and teenage years in La Tarinena Balleza, Chihuahua and came to Denver, CO to join his family at the age of 18 years old. He dedicated his life to being a construction worker and ended as a framer at Rock One Drywall Corp.

Refugio loved to lift weights, swim, and enjoy the outdoors. He dedicated his free time to traveling to the mountains and fish in any body of water he can find. He was invested in night fishing and enjoyed being under the stars as he hooked multiple fishes. Every time you would visit him you would find him watching action movies or relaxing on his recliner in the comfort of his own home. He loved to cook and enjoyed making just about anything but this specialty has always been steak, boy can he make some mean steak. Refugio loved to be the life of the party. He would be the one singing his lungs out and cracking jokes to make everyone who was lucky to be around laugh.

Refugio is survived by Maria de la Luz Villalobos de Chavez, Luz Itzel Aguirre Chavez, Litzy Chavez, Alondra Pedroza Chavez, Renae Duran Chavez, Jed Quintana, SonnyRay Quintana, Martin Espinoza, Izabella Quintana, Dominic Quintana, Israel Quintana, Jayden Quintana, Nehemiah Quintana, SonnyRay JR Quintana, Aaliyah Quintana, Lazaro Chavez-Villalobos, Hermilo Chavez-Villalobos, Jesus Chavez-Villalobos, Juana Chavez Munoz, Alejandrina Chavez-Villalobos, Gasper Chavez-Villalobos, Rafael Chavez-Villalobos, Ofelia Chavez-Villalobos, Manuel Chavez-Villalobos, Rodolfo Chavez-Villalobos, Gregorio “Chepo” Gomez and Ojitos Chavez.

He is preceded in death by Refugio Chavez Lozano, and Rocky Chavez.

Refugio will be deeply missed by his loved ones and remembered fondly for his warm spirit and joyful presence.

Refugio Chávez-Villalobos, un espíritu libre que encarnaba el amor y la alegría genuinos, falleció pacíficamente el 1 de julio de 2024.

Conocido por su energía ilimitada y su risa contagiosa, Refugio tocó las vidas de todos los que lo conocieron con su buen corazón y su inquebrantable positividad. Vivió la vida al máximo, apreciando momentos con familiares y amigos y difundiendo felicidad dondequiera que iba. El espíritu aventurero de Refugio lo llevó a abrazar cada experiencia con entusiasmo. Ya sea siguiendo sus pasiones o simplemente disfrutando de la belleza de la vida cotidiana, afrontaba cada día con una sonrisa y un amor genuino por quienes lo rodeaban. Sus seres queridos lo extrañarán profundamente y lo recordarán con cariño por su espíritu cálido y su alegre presencia. Se llevará a cabo un homenaje privado para honrar y celebrar la vida de Refugio.

● Nació en La Tariñena Balleza, Chihuahua.

● Padre Refugio Chávez Lozano

● Madre María de la Luz Villalobos de Chávez

● Asistió a Niños Heroes para la escuela en Chihuahua.

● Vivió la mayor parte de su infancia y adolescencia en La Tariñena Balleza, Chihuahua y vino a Denver, CO para reunirse con su familia a la edad de 18 años.

● Dedicó su vida a ser trabajador de la construcción y terminó como enmarcador en Rock One Drywall Corp.

● A Refugio le encantaba levantar pesas, nadar y disfrutar del aire libre. Dedicaba su tiempo libre a viajar a las montañas y pescar en cualquier cuerpo de agua que encontraba. Su verdadera alegría provenía de la pesca nocturna y disfrutaba estar bajo las estrellas mientras pescaba múltiples peces. Cada vez que lo visitaban lo encontraban viendo películas de acción o relajándose en su sillón reclinable en la comodidad de su hogar. Le encantaba cocinar y disfrutaba hacer casi cualquier cosa, pero su especialidad siempre fue hacer bistec, y si que sabía hacer un buen bistec.

● A Refugio le encantaba ser el alma de la fiesta. Él era quien cantaba a todo pulmón y contaba chistes para hacer reír a todos los que tuvieran la suerte de estar a su alrededor.
