

Richard “Dick” Lee Meyers was born to Charles D. Meyers and Pearl I. (Gasaway) Meyers on June 25, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois. During his childhood Richard lived with his parents and sisters, Patricia (Meyers) Vosler and Donna (Meyers) Kroll, in Illinois, Wyoming and Colorado. On September 29, 1960 Richard joined the Navy where he volunteered for submarine service and eventually was based out of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. On August 11, 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Judith A. Moore, who he met in the 9th grade. They spent their first year together in Hawaii where they developed a love of the ocean and Hawaiian life. On January 11, 1965 their daughter, Rhonda K. (Meyers) Pylican was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and on June 15, 1969 their daughter, Shelley D. (Meyers) Turner was born in Denver, Colorado. Richard was a Real Estate Broker most of his career and he also worked for FEMA with his brother-in-law, Don Moore. Richard also gave his time to the community through his work with the Jaycees and opened his home and provided sponsorship to a Vietnamese family in need.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judith Meyers; his daughter, Rhonda and her husband, Douglas Pylican as well as his daughter, Shelley Turner. He is joined in eternal life with Shelley’s husband, Richard “Rick” Turner and his sister, Patricia Vosler. Richard is also survived by his sister, Donna Kroll, his grandchildren Amy Smith-Corely, Travis Corely, Kari Smith, Justin Pylican, Bryan Turner, Aaron Turner and Kylie Turner, as well as his great-grandchildren, Bailey and Adam Rawlings and Kynlee, Raylin and Easton Pylican. Richard had a very rich life filled with many dear family and friends and he will be deeply missed. in lieu of flowers we ask you make a donation to Rocky Mountain Submarine Veterans in Richard's name to;
