Richard was born on August 15,1943 in Platte City, Missouri. He lived a full and wonderful life filled with hard work, adventure, and love. For over 50 years, Richard traveled the country behind the wheel of his Peterbilt —a career he truly loved. Alongside his time on the road, he found great joy in farming and operated a small dairy in Keenesburg, Colorado.
Richard leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, strength, and kindness. Though we grieve his loss, we find peace knowing he is now reunited with those who passed before him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon L. Stewart; his parents, Alice and Alvin Stewart; and his siblings Jean Leavon Hall, Dorothy Hadley, Russel Stewart, Billy Stewart, Carolyn Stewart, Betty Taylor, Bobby Stewart, Virginia Sandy, and Francis Widener.
He is survived by his daughter, Edie Stewart Dunbar, and Rachelle Dunbar of Colorado; his son, Richard "Dick” Stewart of Colorado; and seven grandchildren: Brandon Stewart Dunbar and wife (Taylor), Dillion Stewart and wife(Theresa), Dakota, Cheyenne, Navada, Montana, Nicole, and several great-grandchildren.
Forever in our hearts — we love you, Daddy (Papa).
