We are so sad to report the passing of Robert (Bob) Warren Kimball on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the age of 89. Bob was born on January 2, 1935 in Newark New Jersey. He was the oldest son of Howard and Marie Kimball. Bob and his brother Gordon grew up together in New Jersey. Bob was a graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. You may remember the 16th-ranked Farleigh Dickinson Knights historic takedown of #1 ranked Purdue in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship.
Bob and his wife Beverly met on a blind date, set up by Bev’s cousin. They were married on September 6, 1958. Shortly after getting married, they moved to Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where Bob served as a helicopter crew chief.
In the early 70s Bob and Bev visited Colorado and fell in love with the beauty of the state. In 1972, they moved from New Jersey to Lakewood, Colorado with their three daughters (Sharon, Lynda, and Tracy) and Bev’s parents, Nelus and Marie Van Gulick. Bob worked for the Adolph Coors Company for over 20 years in construction as a millwright. Bob could fix or build just about anything.
He absolutely loved cars and could tell you the make, model, and year of just about anything on the road. He owned many cars over the years, but some of the standouts are a 1950s MG, a 67 Corvair, a Mustang, a Bronco, and three different Thunderbirds (1960, 1971 and a 1995) In fact, his former 1971 mustard yellow T-Bird can be seen at the Forney Museum in Denver. Bob was a member of the Rocky Mountain T-Bird Club and made so many wonderful friendships through that organization.
Bob was an amazing father who always had time for his three daughters. In fact, his daughters consider themselves winners of the DAD JACKPOT. He spent many hours driving them back and forth to the Westernaires (equestrian organization), shooting hoops with them in the driveway, fixing broken curling irons, and answering random car-related questions.
He will be so missed. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly, his daughters Sharon Saville, Lynda Tyus, and Tracy Smith, his brother Gordon Kimball, and his grandchildren Jennifer, Jason, Janette, Joel, Matt, and Jordan.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Bob’s life on October 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Green Mountain United Methodist Church (12755 West Cedar Drive, Lakewood CO 80228)
