

Born on November 13, 1930, in Williams, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Buna Blanscet, Roland grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He graduated from Ozark High School in Arkansas in 1948 before serving his country in the Arkansas National Guard. That unit was activated for the Korean Conflict. Roland was Honorably Discharged as a Corporal in 1951, having proudly served in Korea with the U.S Army.
In December of 1950, Roland married the love of his life, E. Jean Barnes, in Paris, Arkansas. Together, they made several trips between Arkansas and Colorado, eventually settling in Colorado in 1955. Their first child, Dewayne, was born in Denver, Colorado in 1953, followed by their daughter, Vicki, in Altus, Arkansas in 1954. They bought a home in West Denver in 1955, where Roland lived for 59 years until he moved to Arvada in 2014.
Roland worked for Gates Rubber Company from 1957 until his retirement in 1990, completing 33 years of dedicated service. He was known as a hardworking, honorable man who valued loyalty and friendships. A true gentleman in every sense, Roland's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, E. Jean Blanscet; his son-in-law, Jim Cochran; his grandson, James C. Cochran; and his longtime friend and companion, Gene Allen.
He is survived by his son Dewayne (Vickie) Blanscet, and their children Alicia (Casey) Saunders, Taylor (Courtney Cross) Blanscet, and grandchildren Corey and Riley Saunders. His daughter Vicki Cochran, and her children Tim (Jena) Cochran, Casey (Bobbie) Cochran, and grandchildren Sarah, Liam, Delaney, Corbin, Will, and Ben Cochran, his sister Janella (Kenneth) Pugh, and children Brian (Rachel) Pugh, Amber (Justin) Ham. Numerous cousins and close family members. He will be deeply missed by his cousin, friend, and "brother," Harrison Allred.
Roland will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, generosity, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. in lieu of flowers the family suggests donations / contributions be made to the “Eureka Freewill Baptist Association Youth Dining Hall Fund” in Roland’s name;
