Rose Moore

Rose was born Rosemarie Lorraine Milavec in Trinidad, Colorado in 1928, the youngest of seven. Soon after she was born, her family moved to Oak Creek, Colorado where her father was a coal miner. Rose attend her entire school years in Oak Creek and graduated from Oak Creek High School in 1946. She was the valedictorian of her class and received a full ride scholarship in English to Colorado A&M, now CSU, in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

During her high school years, Rose met John (Bob) Moore. Rose was the drum majorette and Bob was the captain of the basketball team. They dated and after graduating from high school they were married by the Justice of the Peace and started their married life together. But as life seems to always throw us a curve ball, instead of going to college they started their family and their first of four children were born. Jeff was born in 1947 and, two years later in 1949, a new member of the family was born, brother Bob.

They moved to Denver, where Rose worked nights as a telephone operator and Bob worked on the railroad. They were able to purchase a home of their own in Wheat Ridge where their two daughters, Joan in 1956 and Susan in 1958, were born. She started a real estate career part time when the girls were young and after several years her career took off and she went full time, continuing to sell real estate for 40 years.

She was involved with the boys baseball and football activities, as well as the Westernaires Precision Drill Team which the girls were involved in. She enjoyed Square Dancing and even took equestrian riding lessons. However, her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose will be greatly missed; she was the heart of the family. She now will be joining the love of her life, Bob, to whom she was married to for 72 years, who passed away on June 6, 2018. She is survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033. A reception will follow the services at the Crown Hill Heritage Hall.
