

Roy Hollis Tobias, 77, of Arvada, Colo. passed away Feb. 24, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gunvor L. Tobias; daughters Linnea Tobias and Lisa Scott (married to Zant Scott); sons James Tobias (married to Sunhee Park) and David Tobias; grandchildren Jennifer, Jeremiah, Caleb and Arianna; brothers Mike, Pat, and Dennis Tobias; sister Marian Chaffee; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by father James Tobias, Mother Audrea (Boucher) Tobias, sister Shirley Sidel, and brother David Tobias. He was born on June 24, 1933 in Manhattan, Kansas. As a young man he was a cowboy in Kansas, and he loved the western lifestyle his whole life. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and was stationed at Parks Air Force Base in San Francisco, Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C, and in Tripoli, Libya. He retired from over-the-road truck driving and auto body repair. Roy will be remembered as a loving husband, family man, devoted father and grandfather. He loved working on cars, Country and Western music, bird watching, planting and caring for trees, fishing, and traveling throughout the world with his wife and other members of his family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Advent Lutheran Church, 7979 Meade Street, Westminster, CO 80030, (303) 428-7501, with Pastor Barb Martens officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church, Inurnment will follow at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
