Sandra was born in 1953 in Parma, Ohio, to Adam and June Snelly. From an early age, she had a creative spark, compassion for animals, and a lively sense of humor —all qualities that stayed with her throughout her life.
She made her home in Golden, Colorado, a place she cherished deeply. Nestled in the mountains above Golden was her beloved cabin in the clouds, a retreat that reflected her love of nature, peace, and the majesty of Colorado’s landscapes.
Sandra was married during her life to Don Whitiker, Jeff Serhant, and Bradley Wecker, with whom she shared many meaningful years. Bradley preceded her in death in 2019.
An avid crafter and artist, Sandra owned and operated The Knockabout, a craft company where she created handmade heirlooms, dolls, and ornaments. Her work reflected her imagination, care, and attention to detail—each piece infused her love and creativity. She was also a devoted reader, often reading a book a week, a passion she shared with her father.
Vivacious and full of life, Sandra had a wide circle of friends in the Denver area. She loved traveling, spending time with friends, and caring for her many cherished pets. Her laughter, warmth, and spirit made every gathering brighter.
Sandra is survived by her brothers, William and Lawrence; her nephew Anthony and niece Rachel; her sister-in-law Sue Helmlinger Snelly; brothers-in-law Joe Silva, Richard Whisler, and Dave Ehrlich; Her Aunt Ruthann Eston, and her dear friends David Blashill, Judy Spayde, Dotty Greeley, Jemi and Jimmy, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Wecker (2019); her father, Adam (2024); her mother, June (2001); and her sisters Diane Silva (2001), and Nancy Whisler (2025).
“Sandy” was a compassionate and loving aunt, and cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews. She was a sister who was a shoulder to lean on, and your most devoted cheerleader when you needed it. She was also a devoted friend, and a woman who cared deeply for those around her. Her life can be beautifully summed up in three words that she lived every day:
LOVE – COMPASSION – EXCITEMENT
She will be deeply missed, and remembered always.
