Stephen, a Denver born native, became the patriarch of his family at the young age of 17, raising his two younger sisters; Elizabeth Ward and Maria Ward, filling in for both of his parents at a time when it was needed most. Steve created memorable holidays and broke away from all of the generational traumas to teach the generations to follow a new and brighter way.
He was a legend, Steve; a self-taught architect, father, brother, husband, uncle and friend beyond any other and was as prominent and unmatched in his field as in his relationships. He instilled a hard work ethic, a great sense of humor, love and qualities that make us Wards the way that we all are today and his legacy will continue through the unbreakable path he laid for his family. Which of course was the greatest and most important quality he that instilled is family. Family was one of the most important reasons to be; to be successful, to be kind, understanding and loving to one another without judgment or hesitation, just being there when needed and when needed we were there back.
His stoicism made him respected, his mind made him admired and his heart made him loved, but it was his soul, the very essence that made him that will be missed the most. The way he lit a room as soon as he walked in it, making all of the women want his attention and the men his respect.
Although his passing was sudden and unexpected, he did not leave this world in vein, as he is survived by his children; Stephen Ward [29], Francesca Ward [20], Alexis Ward [17] and Chelsea Ward [16]. As well by his sisters; Kathy Ward, Elizabeth Ward, Maria Ward and Robin Gallagher who all came together for his children as he would have wanted.
I know that when the rock of our family entered heaven he was met by his son, Antonio; mother, Frances Jaramillo; father, Robert Ward and older brother Robert Ward Jr. We love you our father, our brother, our uncle and friend and we thank you for all that you were and will continue to be for us.
