Dear Uncle Steve ...

I am so sorry I couldn't see you one more time before you were taken away.  My last memory of seeing you was many years ago visiting you with dad and grampy, and all four of us drinking a beer together (come to think of it, not sure about grampy drinking a beer, hehehehehe).

I hope when my times comes we will visit often.

My sweet, sweet man...it has been one month since we walked down the hall arm 'n arm for the last time to 'tuck' you into bed - not knowing you were going 'home'. How I miss you my love - your smile, your laugh, your caring ways, your love, your devotion to me as well as to David, Alecia and granddaughter Ashley.  You were a very special man.  Thank you for almost 35 years of wonderful memories...until we meet again my love! I will always love you!!

Daddy- we miss you so much! We go into the bedroom every morning looking for you and you are not there & mommy shows us your picture and gives us hugs and kisses. We sure do miss your 'scritches'  and belly rubs!!

Dad, As Alecia states, I can't believe you're gone. Just a few weeks ago I was spending time with you. I really enjoyed our conversation that late evening and will treasure it always. Wished I would have never let go on our last hug goodbye...will never never forget it. Thank you for being my Dad, I was proud to be your son. Love and miss you Dad!!

Dad, I can't believe it has been a week since you have passed!  I hope you are finally at peace!  Even though we weren't related by blood, you are still and always will be my Dad!  Thank you for taking care of me and David!  I know it wasn't easy!  I love you, Dad and will miss you!

Steve and I worked together for about 12 years at the Sheriff's Office. Then I left in 1981 to take a Police Chief's job in Illinois. Steve was always a good friend and learned a lot from him over those years working together. When I had opportunity to returned  to Colorado for visits, I could always count on seeing Steve's friendly face hanging out in the detention area.

I treasure all the times I worked closely with Steve over the years.  We shared many experiences; some serious, some humorous, all interesting.  He was, without a doubt one of the closest and best friends I had at Jeffco. You will always be missed.  Our sincere condolences to Judy and all the family.  Rest in peace, Steve.

I remeber saturday morning at the bank shredding papers

I remember you watching me score a goal against Golden HS

I remember you showing me how to change brake pads

I remember you helping me move to college

I remember "wart mountain" in RMNP

I remember you showing me how to change brake pads

I remember you drinking coffee and staring out the front window at the cabin

I remember you coming to Scotty's soccer game at Rooney Road

I remember you showing me how to change brake pads

I remember you helping me take the bed outta the wall on Friday nights

I remember Disneyland

But for the life of me, I cannot change my brake pads.  I wish you could show me again what you showed me so many times.  rest well.  love you

I meet Steve in 1971  and had the pleasure of working with him over many years. He was always a gentleman and was a wonderful mentor. After his retirement we remained friends.  Steve was one of the good guys and he will be missed. I will keep is family in prayer. Rest in peace my friend.

It is hard to express the sadness we feel over the loss of Steve and our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Judy and family.  Steve was a fellow deputy for the 40 years of our careers together, my Investigative Division partner and my friend.  The world would be a better place with Steve here!

Steve was a cut above the rest without a doubt. He was great to work with and as a person. I will definitely miss him. Anyone who knew him was blessed having that interaction with him.

Steve was responsible for me being hired at JCSO.  I was not even thinking of getting into law enforcement.  He was the biggest inspiration in my civilian lifetime.  He will never be forgotten.  RIP.
