Steve is survived by his mother Deborah Cooper, father Thomas Cooper, brothers Bryon Cooper and Spencer Cooper, nephew Chris (Danielle) Cooper, nephew Geovonni (Layla) Garcia. Niece Brianna Cooper, godson Lucas Cooper, along with many other extended family members and numerous friends.
Steve was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on October 16, 1973. Steve was a free spirit who loved road trips on his motorcycle. He loved camping, fishing, tubing, hunting, parties, and loved his 2 dogs Nesta and Marley.
As most know, when Steve was just a young boy he was in Boy Scouts. This is what Steve flourished in - the outdoors. Having lot of friends with him; they had fun. Until this day; you're still friends, still scouts, and phish concerts, and the all the rest them.
Steve worked at many places; Liesl Lighting, Caterpillar, Home Depot, The Grow Company, with Andy at Action Labels, and don't forget the pizza driver.
When he was young, Steve was always happy. He joined boy scouts, went camping, joined summer camp, went swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, swam a mile in the pond, did crafts, became a leader, had fun with the camper, had countless summer weekend camping trips, learning to shoot guns, and we got a dog, Rocky. These days were a joy for the whole family.
Next is the Camp Outs. Camp fires, telling stories, and adults drinking. Having so much fun. Then the kids joined the for the campfires. We had great times passing Annie Green Springs and Boone's Farm Winery. Yup, the kids all got lucky.
Next is school. A good student got into band, playing saxophone. Steve joined marching band, orchestra, band, and a jazz band. Man, could he play that sax. We told him to find a band and play in clubs, but he never did. He joined the real world and started working.
Steve bought his house in 1998. His proudest achievement, boy was he happy. Then he bought his motorcycles. One got stolen soon after he bought it, that was a downer. Steve bounced right back and found another. The smile on his face was great.
The parties. Epic. Seemed like every weekend. All of his friends and always new ones. Then people started not coming, life happens and many started to get married. Families started and parties stopped. Steve was lost. But he kept going. Work. Riding his motorcycle with his friends. He survived. Steve's favorite saying was "Let's do it. Im down."
So there you go. Steve's favorite things were motorcycles, dogs, and drinking. You're welcome - Dad
He met a special new friend, Rocky Hackman. A very special bond developed. This was the kind of person Steve was - all of his friends were special.
Steve touched the lives of so many people - young, old, and in between. You would be a friend forever. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
A sympathy card box will be at the Church Services. A Celebration Of Life will be at Lakewood United Methodist Church 1390 Brentwood St, Lakewood Colorado 80214 on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 am.
A special thanks to Troy Marshall, Andy Espinoza, Rocky Hackman, Scott Arnold, Mandy Brandt, and Yvonne Baca.
