

Steven Douglass Lister, age 70, of Saint Francis, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 19th, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Steven was born to Dorothy and Versie Lister in Marysville, California, on March 15th, 1952. He is survived by his step-children, Michael McLeod (Dawn) of Aurora, Colorado, and Christopher McLeod (Adelina Esquibel) of Thornton, Colorado, as well as two grandchildren from Michael (Connor and Shannon McLeod), his brother Dale Lister and his sister Gayle Katzenmeyer and many cherished nieces and nephews. Steven graduated from Highland High School in Thornton, Colorado, in 1971. He married Margaret McLeod in 1983, and they remained together for the rest of his life. Steve, taking after his father, went into land surveying and became a licensed professional land surveyor. He spent
his entire career in the survey/engineering field and owned his own firm (Lane Engineering Services) for 32 years in Lakewood, Colorado. Steve retired in 2014 and moved with Margaret to Saint Francis, KS, where he was active in the community, volunteering at the history and motorcycle museums and driving the bus for the senior center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Versie Lister, and his brother Calvin Lister.
A memorial service was held on February 11th, 2023, in Kearney, Nebraska. He will be interned along with his wife Margaret at a graveside service on May 6th, 2023, at 1230 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
