Sue was born in 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Hathaway Brown and attended Skidmore College, a liberal arts college in Saratoga, New York. There she studied art. A couple of her hobbies were reading and shopping.
In 1967 she married James Otis Simonds. They later had two children and shared a love of traveling and dogs. In 1974 they moved to Lakewood, CO where they enjoyed the mountains and camping in RVs over the years.
Although she was an artist all of her life, at age 52, she found her true passion, started making lamp work, glass beads, and traveling from show to show around the United States in a Motorhome with their Rottweiler. Her work was showcased in newspapers and magazines nationwide and was asked to help instruct and speak about her work.
She is survived by her children Laura A. Simonds of Breckenridge, CO; William W. Simonds of Franktown, CO; her grandchildren Danielle C. Jones and William W. Simonds Jr.; and great grandchildren Adalyn L. Jones, and Rylee C. Jones.
Services will be held on July 9th, 2021 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA in Sue's name.
