

Phyllis Davis (Rick) of Grand Junction. Five grandchildren: Heather Morrison (Colin) of Denver, Richard Leeds of Denver, Nichole Nolan (John) of Grand Junction, Rebecca Dalton (Jesse) of Grand Junction. Three great grand children: Tristan, and Bailey Tucker, and Connor Wolf all of Grand Junction; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Tom was one of 13 children and the oldest son born of George and Margaret Larive in Lead SD. He was born May 17, 1945 in Lead. Eleven of his siblings also survive him.
Tom graduated from Lead, SD high school and attended Arapahoe Community College where he earned an associates degree.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969, and is a Vietnam Veteran.
Tom was a metal fabricator & machinist for over 40 years, and had just retired on May 31, 2011.
He loved his dogs and they accompanied him & Joanne just about everywhere they went.
Tom married Joanne on July 29, 1978 in Golden, Colorado in a unique double ceremony with his sister Corkey and her husband Kirk Dalke.
He was a lifetime member of VFW 4171 of Golden, CO where he was an active member participating and assisting in many activities. Over the years he held several offices including Post Commander in 1983.
Tom especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Every fall you could find Tom anticipating and enjoying the hunting season. He already had his hunting license for the fall 2011 season. Whenever the “guy’s” gathered, the talk often turned to tales of their many hunting adventures. He also loved boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was a wonderful brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed.
