Thomas Donald Scarborough, 93 years of age, affectionately known as Tom, Donald, Dad, Poppa or Grandpa by his family and friends, left his earthly constraints on March 23, 2025. He lived a long life full of love from his family and for his family and friends, especially the love of his life, wife Lynn. Tom was born July 24, 1931 in Georgia to loving parents, Garnett & Mamie Scarborough. After graduating high school, Tom enlisted in the Air Force and served at Lowry AFB where he honed his mechanical skills. After he was honorably discharged, he worked repairing sewing machines and making flour sacks before landing his career long job with Adolph Coors Brewery.
Tom was a dedicated family man. Everything he did was for them. After working 8 hours, he would often come home and work long hours into the night on the house remodeling or building additions to make life easier and more comfortable for his wife and family.
Even when enjoying his hobby of square dancing with his wife he was always thinking of others. He put a floating wood floor in their basement where they square danced when he heard numerous people comment that the concrete floor was hurting their backs and knees.
He was an Air Force Veteran, and was awarded a Sharp Shooting Air Force Service Medal, something that he was proud of.
He was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. Consistently his kids heard other people say they loved him like he was their dad. He was compassionate, loving, caring, and very giving.
Tom loved being outdoors where he could wet a line. He made sure each of his grandkids could have the experience of fishing and hoped they would develop a love for the sport.
Tom is preceded in death by: his parents, Garnett and Mamie; his devoted wife Lena Jean Scarborough; his brother Ellis Scarborough and wife Everlene, his brother Bobby, sister Frances Virginia Norred and husband Virgil; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Fallis; and son Gary Scarborough.
