Mrs. Toni Walton daughter of the late George W. Clark and Alice B. Clark, was born July 2, 1944, in Denver, Colorado. She attended Denver Public Schools but graduated from Merritt Hutton High School in Thorton, Colorado. She was a single mother to Ken, Penny, and Jennifer for many years; providing for them in the best way that she knew how. She worked two waitress jobs to make sure that they had food, clothing, and a roof over their heads. One waitress job was in the morning, and the other was in the evening, in the middle of the day she would dance in the kitchen to disco and country music with her three children to have a wonderful laugh.
She was blessed to be united with Kevin Walton who brought Matt blending the family now she had four beautiful children whom she loved dearly. Kevin and Toni had a wonderful marriage, building a life around family and friends. Kevin Walton preceded her in death in 2021.
Toni at 81 passed away peacefully in Sterling, Colorado. She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. In her lifetime she was able to travel, paint, be with the people she loved, and most importantly be with her great-grandchildren. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was so happy to be around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that whenever they came into the room, she would make sure she was the first to get a hug and kiss and tell them how much she loved them. She was so passionate about spending time with them, and all family! What a blessing when she was with her great-grandchildren, they melted her heart. She loved to spend time with Grace and Violet; she adored how they would hug her and tell her all about what they were doing; those two were always a riot eating out on Wednesdays with Danielle and Matt and whomever could join them – weekly family dinners were sacred to her.
She loved visiting Kinsley, Jackson and Elijah and watching them color, draw, dress-up in their cool outfits and play and lately go to the swimming pool. Time spent with Wrenley and Kelton was so special she loved watching them run in the yard and swing in the hammock. Wrenly in the little chair was a BIG joy to her. Cory’s time at the house was so special to her, she also felt very blessed to have had Josh and Ryan live at the house. She was so happy with those memories.
The memories of her children dancing in the kitchen with her, swimming in the big pool in the backyard, playing ping-pong on the back porch and enjoying a game of pool in the basement really made her smile.
She worked and dedicated her life to the students at East High School as an attendance secretary in Denver, Colorado. She loved each one of them and felt honored to have a long history at Denver Public Schools. While at East she was passionate about supporting the East High Boys Basketball team. She and her late husband Kevin rarely missed a game. She also went to the plays and loved to support the after-prom parties each year. She only wanted the best for the students.
Toni was a member of the Mile High Church in Denver. She met her husband Kevin there. They were married there and enjoyed going to services there for over 35 years. In later years she began to attend online, still so happy to see her church community.
Toni Walton was an incredible woman. She loved life, and her family so much. She especially loved to share time with them at the cabin, her HAPPY place. She was always inviting anyone and everyone up for a visit!
She really loved the holidays. One of her favorite things was to go to the Boulder Dinner Playhouse each year at Christmas. She wanted all the family to attend with her. Sometimes it would be 25 people, sometimes only 10. Each year it was special, much laughter, joy and memories were made around the plays and celebrations. Each holiday she decorated everything. She had a flare for making everything beautiful for the holidays. She loved having everyone over for the holidays to share in her loving spirit.
She will be missed not only at the holidays but every day of the year. Her love will now be up with the angels. Luke 1:37 says “for with God, nothing shall be impossible” as a family they will put their trust in God and know they can get through anything. Now they will press on knowing Toni Walton, their loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother is guiding them from above.
