William Frederick Burks, 83, was called home to the Lord on October 10, 2013. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on May 15, 1930, a son of the late William C. and Wanda Burks. After attending school in Colorado Springs, William (Bill) joined the Army and proudly served in the Korean Conflict. When he was honorably discharged from the Army, he went to work as a Cartographer for the US Geological Survey Department. Bill traveled extensively for his job through out the Southwestern United States and Mexico. He truly loved the adventure of travel and the remote locations he was fortunate enough to visit. After his retirement, Bill, and his beloved wife Marion, enjoyed staying closer to home, tending to their beautiful roses and yard, enjoying time with his family and friends, along with the occasional road trip together. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Marion, parents, William and Wanda, siblings Beverly, Betty, Jim, and stepdaughter Barbara. Bill is survived by his children Karen Seeber (Steve), Elizabeth Reader (Roger), David Burks (Kathy), Larry Burks (Anne), and stepdaughter Lynda Wright (Bill). Bill is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Nick and Collen (Karen); RJ, Rachel and Randi (Elizabeth); Bailey and Jordan (David); Braden, Carter and Alyssa (Larry); Millicent and Jennifer (Lynda). Bill was a kind and decent man, beloved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. We are comforted to know that he was met in Heaven by his lovely wife Marion. May they both rest in peace.
