Bruce Harge Burton

Bruce Harge Burton was born November 7th, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. He passed away at the age of 80. He was married to Patricia for 42 years. Bruce is survived by his children Jane (Greg) Bartnick, Bruce (Jill) Burton, Suzanne (Greg) Waun and Julie Burton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Krysta (Scott) MacDonald, David Waun, Mark Waun, Carly Burton, Bekka Bartnick, Chase Burton, Chad Burton, Cooper Higgins and Morgan Higgins.

Bruce was a retired Detroit Police officer of 25 years. He worked in various precincts, including the Youth Bureau and Court Detail. He also provided security for Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan for 10 years. A longtime parish member at St. Patrick Church of White Lake, Michigan, Bruce was a Lay Eucharistic Minister and involved in the Meals on Wheels program.

To celebrate Bruce’s life, a memorial Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s Church, 9068 Hutchins Rd, White Lake, Michigan 48386 on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A luncheon will immediately follow at Edgewood Country Club located at 8399 Commerce Rd, Commerce Township, Michigan 48382.
