Curtis Roy Halama

Curtis Roy Halama, age 69, of White Lake, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, in White Lake. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kristen (Dominic Pierfelice) Ramirez; his grandson, Alexander Blevins; his three siblings: Richard (Linda) Halama, Gary (Laura) Halama, and Shirley (Doug) Grima; sister-in-law Lucy Petrykowski; estranged sister-in-law Susan (Mike) Klimek; his nieces and nephews: Sherry (Bill), Pam (Dave) Sheila (Steve), Mandy (Pete), Melissa, Stephanie (Mike), Andrea (Mike), Nick (Marissa), Mike, and Ashleigh (Nate); several great-nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Curtis was born October 7, 1953, in Garden City, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Ernest and Marguerite (Posterick) Halama. Curtis worked as an Auto Body Repairman and Painter of semi-trucks at Mike Kline Incorporated for over thirty years until his retirement earlier this year. He was passionate and knowledgeable about the work he did there, there wasn’t much he couldn’t repair or customize. Curtis was introduced to Diane Petrykowski by his sister, Shirley, and a relationship developed from there. Curtis and Diane were married in 1991, but shared over thirty wonderful years together until Diane’s passing in 2019. In his free time, Curtis greatly enjoyed both bowling and golfing. He spent many Monday evenings with the wonderful friends he made in his bowling league, and got out on the golf course any time he could. Many of Curtis’s fondest memories also come from the times spent at the cabin up north he and Diane shared with his sister Shirley and brother-in-law Doug. He could always be found working on projects; be it his home, the cabin, or one of the many toys in his garage. He was very talented in figuring out how things worked; he could repair or build almost anything, and he tried to lend a hand to others whenever he could. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marguerite; and his loving wife Diane.

A Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Curtis’s family will receive visitors on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 3:00 pm. In accordance with Curtis’s wishes, cremation will follow.
