Elizabeth Best

Elizabeth Ann (O’Donnell) Best passed away peacefully at age 94 on August 28, 2019 surrounded by family and “Angels” from Mendelson Home Assisted Living at Lourdes Senior Community, Waterford, MI. She was married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, William for 72 years. Elizabeth loved spending time with family and friends on Cedar Island Lake where the family lived for over 60 years. All her life Elizabeth loved music, playing the piano and singing. She was also an avid card player and even started a pinochle club at Mendleson. Elizabeth is survived by her 6 daughters; Melinda (David) Calme, Rebecca (Richard) Holman, Jennifer Cronin, Lisa (Dean) Wilson, Mary (Remi) Zecman, and Georgina (Jamie) Neylon. Preceded in death by her 3 sons: Christopher, Timothy and William Best. Loving Grandmother of 13: David (Valbona) Calme; Coral and Megan Cronin; Erica (Charles) Sloan; Jesse (Neil) Fiest; Lindsey (John) Pilling; Amanda (Drake) Hart, Kaitlyn, and Joseph Wilson; Madeline (Jack) Snyder and Eric Zecman; Phoenix and the late James Christopher Neylon. Proud great-grandmother of 17: Griffin (Alex) and Morgan Calme; Paola Kaciqi; Kendal, Devon, Zoey and Connor Sloan; Anneliese Fiest; Lyla, Eve, Addie and Oaklee Pilling; Orion and Archer Traverso, Alivia Kate Wyatt and Anson Dean Hart. Also survived by 2 sister-inlaws: Marytherese Merritt and Rita O’Donnell. Loving Aunt of many notable nieces and nephews especially Martin “Co-Bro” Jones and honorary “Grandma” to Amine Moussaousi. And preceded in death by her sister Jane (Robert) Anderson; brother William (Joyce) O’Donnell; sister-in laws: Sr Gilmary Best IHM, Dorothy (Jack) Jones, Isabelle (John) Kanaly and grand-daughter Deana Calme. Elizabeth was a active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, White Lake, for over 60 years where she was Eucharistic minister. Remembrance Mass, Monday September 9, 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake.
