

Francis T. Poly, age 91, of West Bloomfield formerly of Keego Harbor; passed away peacefully on October 25, 2011. Mr. Poly was born in Fairview, Kentucky. He retired from General Motors Truck and Bus after 31 years of service, and his favorite hobbies included fishing, ice fishing and being outdoors. Francis was involved with the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) in Kentucky. Beloved husband of 62 years to Ruth M. Poly; dear father of Ruth Ann (Roger) Paulson, Kimberly (Robert) Redner, Lynda (David) Droulard, Cynthia Barnett; proud grandfather of Kristen (Jose) Alvarez, Amie (David) Gibb, Arthur Redner, Ellen Redner, Sarah Droulard, Kyle Droulard, Andrew Barnett, Nathan Barnett, Philip Barnett; caring brother of the late Roy Poly. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Friday October 28, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 3750 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake. The visitation hours will be on Thursday from 2 until 8 p.m. along with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Mr. Poly will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass; interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Cemetery, Novi.
