Frank J. Soave, age 91, of Orchard Lake, passed away November 25, 2019. Beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of Timothy (Melody) Soave, Kenneth (Mary) Soave and Donna (Dean) Clark. Proud grandfather of Andrew Soave, Janet (Michael) Coscino, John Soave, Aimee Soave, Thomas Soave, Emily Clark and Jamie Clark. Frank leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and numerous other family and friends. Frank was preceded in passing by his parents, John and Stella Soave; and his sister, Margaret Holohan.

Frank was a proud mason contractor all his adult life owning or partnering in several mason contracting companies. He was also involved in improving the mason contractor profession serving as a Board Member, President, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient of the Masonry Institute of Michigan; active member and President of the Detroit Mason Contractors' Association; and through work with the State of Michigan OSHA Board setting construction safety standards.

Frank had many passions including big band music (he was a drummer as a young man), hunting, fly fishing, and sailing his pontoon boat at his cottage up north (which he built along with his house and a house for each of his children). However, his particular passion was always his family, his wife, and his children and his grandchildren.

Frank and his wife were members of the St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Parish for over 60 years.

Frank was a family man. I remember when he visited us in Ohio, he always had an update on family. He kept in touch with almost everyone and would let the rest of us know what was happening in their lives. He will be missed.

Uncle Frank was always with Aunt Margaret they had one of the most loving relationships I have ever seen. He was a man that loved his family. I remember him telling me that his “motto” was to leave things better than when you found it. Well.... my dear Uncle Frank left this world better than before you came. Like Janet said, he was a man of few words but when he spoke he had something worth while to say. I never heard him swear or talk bad about anyone. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially at the cottage he built. Personally, I feel he was the best brick layer ever and as a result of his hard work had a wonderful business. My Uncle Frank liked : the piano, nuts, his pontoon boat at the cottage, sweaters, spending time with family and friends..... He enjoyed building his family homes. Bricking my grandma Koshowsky’s house, his home and cottage, and all his children’s homes. I know he loved his faith and I am sure he is building a mansion in heaven. Will miss Uncle Frank but will always remember the lessons learned. ❤️ Annette, Don, Samantha and Nick
