Sorry for you loss, Joanne was a great friend and neighbor that lived down the street.  She was funny and always there for you.  I am really glad that I got to know her.  She will surely be missed.

our first hockey referee at the church on summer vacation as kids. ill miss her so much. she was one of the sweetest people anyone could ever meet. my heart goes out to you all. she always told us to mind our p's and q's but would never tell me what it meant. i looked it up last year and told her i found out what it meant after 15 years. we shared a good laugh and good memories that day. i can still see her smile.

It broke my heart to here that JoAnn had passed.  She was my neighbor for the past several years and I always knew she was a good friend and a very caring person.  The world is a little dimmer now that her flame is not among us.  The only solace is that she is reunited with her husband.  Rest well, my friend.

Joann was my buddy, my friend and one of my closest 1st cousins.  What a laugh we would have together when she picked up the phone only to hear me say "You little snot!"  Such an unusual term of endearment, but it was a term she had used hundreds of times.  We'll miss that vibrant personality that was Joann Haworth.  We are indebted to God for the gift He gave us all.  My deepest sympathies and prayers are with you all.  God bless and keep you.

This is very sad news.  We could always count on a warm welcome at the Haworth house, even if it did mean getting our cheeks pinched.  It really didn’t matter how many kids were crammed into the Haworth house, there was always room for one more.  

A visit to the Haworth’s meant a kid could be a kid.  We knew we were loved by the Haworth’s, but there was no sissy coddling here.  We could play to our hearts content without being bothered by the grownups. Going to the Haworth’s was sort of like going to a resort: swimming, walking, snacks, an empty lot next door and that huge back yard. It was basically a kids paradise.  I don’t think anyone liked kids as much as Joann. At least that was how I felt around her.

No one had a vocabulary like JoAnn Haworth.  When I hear the phrases, “For crying in the sink” and “You can kiss my grits” or “Shoot fire’, which I must admit is rarely these days, I am brought back to the summer afternoons of sitting on a vinyl-covered chair in her tiny kitchen, amazed that four dogs, four little girls and all their friends could fit in such a small room.

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone else like JoAnn Haworth.  When I would visit her as an adult, she’d still pinch my cheeks and say, “for crying in the sink, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”  I can picture her now, sitting in the back row at church, ever faithful, always the same. She will be missed.

So heart-breakinhg to hear of your loss.  I know how the  heart can ache in this time.   Joann gave me such encouagement while my husband Bob was sick.  I know they are singing the same praises together in heaven and are cheering us on as we make our way.  Will miss talking to her, but will see her soon. For a christian to die to this life is gain in every way. My sympathy is with all of you and my joy is for Joann.
