Beloved husband of Lois for 40 years. Loving father of Erik (Kathryn) and Lindsey (Jacob). Proud grandfather of Madison, Jacob, Charleigh and Weston. Brother of Victor (Lynn) VanMeerbeeck, the late Cary VanMeerbeeck, Elizabeth (the late Kent) Thompson and Kirk (Lisa) VanMeerbeeck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Kim was born and raised in Dearborn Heights. He was a very resourceful man who could fix just about anything was very mechanically astute as well as a journeyman mason. He enjoyed music, was a restaurateur and an excellent cook. Van was known for his outspoken nature and "Staunch Conservatism". In his earlier years he loved to water ski, snowmobile, was a great dancer, a talented hockey player and avid hockey enthusiast. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family at the cottage on Cass Lake and also the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula. He will be very much missed by all.
Private cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
