

Lance Corporal Donoven C. Rodriguez of Commerce Township died July 19th, 2017. He was born March 28th, 1996 in Commerce Township, and is the son of Donald Rodriguez and Kelly (Gary) Steele. He attended Walled Lake Northern High School and graduated in 2014, where he was a member of the boy's soccer team. He was an Active Duty Marine at 29 Palms Marine base in California.
Donoven attended Commerce Church of the Nazarene and was part of the youth group during his high school years.
Donoven is survived by his parents, Donald and Kelly (Gary) Steele; his brothers Chase, Allen, Austin and Kenneth, and his sisters Valencia, Atulia, Olyia, and Victoria. He is also survived by his close Marine Corps brothers, Donovan Willamson, Josh Gibson, and Tyler Mayben, as well as many other active duty Marines. He is also survived by his best friend Josh Duvall and his family; Charlie, Mara, Cody, and Ashleigh.
Donoven is also survived by his Uncle; Sean Meek (Lori, Sean II, and Hayley) of Howell, and his Aunt; Susan Laurain of Livonia. He is also survived by his Uncle; Ronald Rodriguez of White Lake, as well as many friends.
Donoven enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2014 right after his high school graduation, where he then graduated Marine Corp boot camp in July 2015. Donoven was afloat on a ship in the Pacific Ocean amongst his close Marine brothers, where he was then deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and Thailand. Donoven was in First Platoon, attachment to Second Marine, Fifth Battalion during deployment. Donoven was a part of the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (3rd LAR, Comanche Company) when he passed.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home in White Lake, Michigan. Visiting hours will be Saturday, July 29th from 12-4pm. Marine Corp honors begins at 4pm with his eulogy given by John from Commerce Church of the Nazarene.
