Born in Detroit, Michigan to John and Norma Gilchrist, Michael lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and love.
Michael was married to his beloved wife Linda Gilchrist (nee Seaburg) for more than 50 years, a partnership marked by deep affection and unwavering support.
Professionally, Michael found great pride in his career in sales with Roger Penske, where his dedication and skill earned him accolades and victories in the winner's circle multiple times. His achievements were a testament to his hard work and determination.
Beyond his professional life, Michael was known for his vibrant spirit and diverse interests. He was a true jack of all trades, finding pleasure in activities ranging from rollerblading to jet skiing — a passion that earned him the affectionate title of the "Jet Ski King" bestowed by his grandson. He also enjoyed tennis, swimming, and running, staying active throughout his life and inspiring those around him with his vitality.
Along with his loving wife Linda, Michael is survived by his children Fabien (Les) Hoban, Christian Gilchrist, and Jason Gilchrist; grandchildren Jack, Max, Grant, Zach, Noah, and Jonas; great-grandchildren Eden and Evelyn; and siblings David (Grace) Gilchrist and John (Rosemary) Gilchrist.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael's honor to the American Diabetes Association.
