Michael Robert Walter

Michael Robert Walter, age 78, of White Lake, Michigan, was born December 16, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa, and passed away October 25, 2023 at home. Loving father of Toni (Rick) Sherwood and Robert (Melissa) Walter. Proud grandfather of Tielle Steve, Rick Steve, Lane Steve, Tucker Sherwood, Skylar Sherwood, Marlee Sherwood, Zac Walter, and Morgyn Walter. Treasured great-grandfather of Wyatt Steve, Madi Steve, Austin Steve, Amelia Steve and Waylon Steve. Michael will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. Michael was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Helen; and his parents, Robert and Betty Walter.

Michael was a dedicated lifetime member of the Union Lake Eagles Post 3575, where he fostered a strong sense of camaraderie. He had a deep passion for both bowling and golfing, often spending his weekends perfecting his game on the green and in the alley. Throughout his career, Michael worked as a mechanic, gaining invaluable experience in various garages over the years. His commitment to service extended to his time in the Navy, where he was not only a serviceman but also a musician, contributing to the band by playing the clarinet, showcasing his musical talents alongside his military dedication.

Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, November, 4, 2023 from 11:00am until 3:00pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake.
