Oliva Monivene Buchanan

Oliva Monivene Buchanan of Walled Lake, passed away May 14, 2023 at 94 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late James. Dear mother of Wendell (Linda) Allen and Robert (Susan) Buchanan. Proud grandmother of Jennifer (George) Yannelis, Becky (Pete) Valentine, J.T. (Allie White) Buchanan and the late Zachary Buchanan. Treasured great-grandmother of Kaleigh, Gavin, Karli and Raelynn. She is preceded in death by her siblings.

Monty was a very active long time member of Walled Lake Church of Christ. She loved her church and was a fine christian lady. Among her many interests, she enjoyed traveling up north and going to garage sales. "It was an honor to know her, she was absolutely the sweetest person who lived her life for her family not for herself." She will be very much missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Walled Lake Church of Christ, 1367 N. Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake and Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan.
