Dear Mac Kenzies,
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of Mr. Mac Kenzie.  Some of my favorite memories of life on Ridgetop Drive was your husband and father - a great big teddy bear with a beaming smile and a fabulous  chuckle of a laugh.  We all share in your loss.

Bob had many titles Brother, Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Electrical Worker,  Planner, Sailor, Veteran, OLHA Board Member, Neighbor, Friend.
It was obvious to all who knew him how much Bob loved his family.  To all of us, “BobandDee” is just one word
Bob was a sailor, serving aboard USS Lexington, CVA 16  as a Petty Officer 2nd Class, Electricians Mate, in the after Emergency Diesel Generator Room. Bob was a shipmate, a term set aside for someone who stands ready to serve.  
He was always straight forward in his purpose. His views on life were clear and he did not deviate from how he determined things were supposed to be. He loved his basketball and football (yes, a Lion's fan) and any other sport his children or grandchildren took an interest . 
Bob, with Dee, served on the Oxbow Lake Homeowner's Association Board.  Helping fellow riparian homeowners with the special projects involved in lakefront living.
His life experiences were certainly unique.  The stories shared the past few days were of a life enjoyed and well lived. 
Bob enjoyed a close relationship with his family.  What a blessing of time he was given to include the birth of his first Great Grand Child. 
Bob relished his time with his family and close friends.   If not at home on Lakeside Drive, then at the homes of one of their children or grandchildren or at their home overlooking the straits of Mackinaw. He enjoyed traveling with Dee and for many years they found warm places to spend their winters,
Bob was not immune from the trials and tribulations of this life.  It was only most recently that he encountered  the  health problems originating from his serving in the United States Navy.  Again, he was a fitting example of how to rise above adversity and persevere.  Bob attracted friends that remained with him for life.  He will be remembered.

Dear Dee, Mike, Melanie, Donna and the entire family,

 We are so sorry to hear the news of your loss. I remember the great big smile and warm laugh Mr. MacKenzie always had whenever we saw him.  Please accept our sincerest sympathy and prayers for comfort during this difficult time.

Bob was a caring and gentle man, so happy to be with his family.  Every time I saw him he had a welcoming smile.   What a kind soul and someone who made this world a better place to be.   God Speed.   

I knew and worked with Bob over 30 years at Detroit Edison.  He was a great person always a smile and the first to laugh.  I learned many things from him over the years. The last time I saw him with others from work we talked and laughed about our work days at DECO, it was great seeing him again.

I am sorry for your loss, but know that he will be missed by many.



Bob was one of the BIG kids in the neighborhood and my most vivid memory of him was him water skiing in his military uniform right up to his parents house (next door) the day he came home from the service! He never even got wet!  You will be missed! Prayers to you  and your family Dee. Also to Sandy and Jerry.

So sorry for your loss bob will be missed by all. He always was upbeat and in great spirits. He will always be poo bear to us at Detroit edison r.i.p. poo no one that ever met you will forget you....joe knight and family

I was so sorry to hear this sad news!  Cousin Bob will be missed by many...your family is blessed to have so many wonderful memories! Praying for you Dianna and the whole family at this very difficult time.  Alway such a Blessing when we all visited.  Bob always had a Zest for life!!  We should all live like he did!  
I know my Dad will be waiting at the gates with St. Peter to welcome Bob  with a scotch and soda in hand!

Uncle Bob always had a smile on his face and a jolly laugh. He made his family #1 and I will always be thankful for him making us feel special. He was always there for each family get together, graduations, piano recitals, or sporting events. Love you always ❤️

Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. I remember his laugh and his loving Oxbow Lake! He will be missed by many!
