Roger John Leist

Roger J. Leist, Age 72, of Commerce Township, died suddenly on Sunday, February 13, 2011, in Frostproof Florida. Roger is survived by his wife Lona whom he just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with on Friday February 11, 2011, his mother, Henrietta, his children, Terri (Dan) Conway, Tami (Dia) Zaraga, Toni (Tom) Conway, and Michael (Michelle) Leist, along with his grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, Chelsea, Bob, Brett, Rachel, Brittney and Luc, his brother Fred (Lezlie), his sister-in-law, Jean Archer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harold, his siblings, Robert Leist and Gloria Westcott. Roger was retired from General Motors for 20 years. He spent his summers on Long Lake and his winters in Florida. He was an avid golfer earning an accomplished two "hole in ones". He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd.,, White Lake. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Commerce Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
